Itinerary Details

Day 1 - Arrive Purnululu National Park

Depart Darwin on Nexus Airlines. Arrive approximately 1:45pm.

You will be transferred from Kununurra Airport to the Aviair terminal, where you will depart for Purnululu National Park at 2:30pm.

Land at Bellburn Airstrip in Purnululu National Park and be transferred to Bungle Bungle Savannah Lodge. Once you’re settled into your cabin, enjoy nibbles and drinks at sunset before tucking into a delicious, chef-prepared dinner by the crackling fire. Meet your fellow guests, take in the brilliantly starry night sky, and take in the sounds of nature as you relax into Bungles time.

 

Day 2 - Explore the Bungle Bungle

Start your day with a delicious breakfast, freshly prepared by our in-house chefs. After breakfast, your guide will meet you to begin the day’s adventure.

The tour begins with a picturesque drive to the Piccaninny Carpark, winding through bushlands and past sandstone formations that form the beginning of the Bungle Bungle Range. Once arrived, your guide will lead you on a moderate 3km walk through the famous eroded towers and beehive-shaped domes on the Domes Walk.  Head towards Cathedral Gorge, where you can walk alongside towering cliffs which create phenomenal natural acoustics within the Gorge.  Refuel with a tasty picnic lunch after a morning of exploring. You will then head out along the rocky creek bed of Piccaninny Creek, which only flows during periods of high rainfall.

To top off your first day exploring the Bungles, why not add on a 30-minute scenic helicopter flight over the Bungle Bungle Range. An exhilarating adventure that we highly recommend!

After a day of exploring, your guide will drive you back to the Bungle Bungle Savannah Lodge, where you’ll have free time until dinner. Relax in your cabin or by the pool at Bungle Bungle Savannah Lodge, and take in a beautiful Purnululu sunset.

Enjoy another delicious chef-prepared dinner either inside the lodge dining room, or under the stars in our alfresco dining area.

Day 3 - Depart Purnululu National Park

After breakfast, say farewell to Purnululu National Park and the Bungle Bungle Range.

Board your Aviair flight back to Kununurra, flying over the old Argyle Diamond Mine, stunning Carr Boyd Ranges, Osmand Ranges and the Ord River Irrigation Area arriving into Kununurra.

You will be transferred from the Aviair terminal to Kununurra Airport to check in for your Nexus Airlines flight back to Darwin.
