A True Wilderness Experience

There’s so much to see and do at El Questro, a visit to the 700,000-acre property combining station township and wilderness park is like a holiday within your holiday! From natural thermal springs to lush gorges and waterfalls, you’ll find an extensive range of tours, experiences and activities to keep every member of the family happy. Accommodation options range from high end luxury at the exclusive all-inclusive Homestead to well-appointed bungalows and safari-style tented cabins. Boasting three separate dining outlets, and a well-stocked store at the Station Township, it’s a great place to either self-cater, or indulge in meals crafted from the finest local ingredients.

We love El Questro for its ability to deliver a genuine Outback experience to every visitor, regardless of age, ability or budget.

We like to think we’re the number one ambassador for the delights of the Kimberley, but El Questro scores a close second place. There’s nothing comparable to its versatility when it comes to showcasing the region’s natural wonders and attractions from a well-equipped, traveller-friendly centralised location.

Celebrated by adventure seekers and nature lovers for its ancient gorges, waterfalls and rockpools, rivers and creeks, and many vantage points and lookouts to absorb the breathtaking panorama, El Questro is the perfect mix of accommodation and adventure.
Here you can pace your days as fast or as slow as you like and handpick activities and tours that align with your Kimberley wish list goals. With an extensive list of attractions to discover, a day’s exploration could see you hiking through dramatic gorges, swimming in a genuine waterhole oasis shaded by lush vegetation, horseback riding through wild, untamed countryside, fishing for barramundi, or cruising tranquil waters to visit Aboriginal rock painting sites and spot some of El Questro’s 100 species of birds, and many other unique flora and fauna.

El Questro nights are the time to either enjoy a first class meal outdoors, an intimate restaurant environment, cook up the barra you caught and swap stories around the campfire under a billion stars, or retreat to the seclusion and serenity of your accommodation after a night of live music at The Swinging Arm Bar.

Add El Questro to your itinerary for a taste of everything The Kimberley has to offer under one sprawling roof:

  • Chamberlain Gorge
  • Zebedee Springs
  • Explosion Gorge
  • Branco’s Lookout
  • Pentecost River
  • Station Township
  • Emma Gorge
  • Buddy’s Point
  • Miri Miri Falls
  • Cockburn Range
  • El Questro Gorge
  • Amaroo Falls
  • The Lost City

Don’t miss …

Emma Gorge is set between the towering sandstone cliffs of the Cockburn Range. Take a self-guided one-hour hike through the gorge and be rewarded at the end with a pristine waterfall that plunges into a refreshing rock pool. Take a once in a lifetime helicopter flight over the station, choose from scenic flights, private waterfall adventures or exclusive sunset picnic flights. Don’t leave El Questro without bathing in the soothing, thermal waters of Zebedee Springs. The unique chain of pools maintains a consistent temperature of around 32°C and are an easy stroll through the shade of Livistona and Pandanus palms. Top Tip: Head to Zebedee Springs to bathe in thermal pools in the morning, as it is closed to the public in the afternoon.
