Day 3 - Roebuck Bay and Indian Ocean Sunsets

Today is shaped by your tour choice and the seasonal and tidal variations of Broome. Choose one of 3 nature-based cruises that will fill you with delight as you witness the varied sea life that inhabits the warm tropical waters surrounding Broome. Depending on tides and ocean conditions, your tour will take you out on the coastal stretch along Cable Beach or in the calm, turquoise waters of Roebuck Bay.

Regardless of which option you choose, you will experience the remarkable Broome sunset, either from the water or back on land at Cable Beach with a cocktail in hand.

Option A- Join the Snubfin Dolphin Cruise through the serene waters of Roebuck Bay, home to one of Australia’s largest populations of snubfin dolphins. Watch these unique dolphins, or playful bottlenose dolphins, as they socialise and bask in the sun, offering unforgettable wildlife moments. Depending on the season, you may also encounter graceful manta rays gliding beneath the surface or catch turtles popping up for a breath. If conditions allow, cap off your wildlife encounters with an exhilarating swim in the boom net. Safely ride within the edges of a large net attached to the back of the vessel as it cruises through the shallow waters of Roebuck Bay.

Immerse yourself in the awe-inspiring heritage-listed Roebuck Bay marine park where the purpose-built shallow landing vessel, Brahminy Kite, allows you to disembark directly onto the beach whilst exploring this awe-inspiring coastline. Enjoy a fully guided tour with entertaining and informative commentary on everything Broome. From the colourful history, the evolution of the coastline, and of course the science behind the perfectly preserved, 120 Million-year-old dinosaur footprints that are fossilised in rock on a secluded beach.

Wake to the symphony of birds in their native surroundings and enjoy a cooked breakfast before starting the day.  For a different view of the Bungle Bungle, today’s tour will take you through Echidna Chasm and the northern end of Purnululu National Park.

This tour begins with a 45-60 minute drive heading north along the Western Wall of the Bungle Bungle Range. On arrival follow your local guide along a rocky path nestled between cliffs into Echidna Chasm.  At points, this path can narrow to a width of less than 1.5 metres.  On either side of you, towering walls of orange stone scattered with Livistona Palm trees will reach skywards, seeming as though they are lit from within.

As this walk requires a significant amount of climbing over boulders and navigating stairs, we advise that this tour be embarked upon by those with full mobility. The walking component of this tour is approximately 3 hours long. Whilst out and about, enjoy a tasty picnic lunch.

After your tour, board your plane and continue return via a scenic flight back to Kununurra.  Fly over the Argyle Diamond Mine, Bow River, Lake Argyle and the Ord Irrigation Area.  Touch down in Kununurra and be transferred to your accommodation.

Return to the resort for a quick morning tea before heading off to Zebedee thermal springs where the tour will have exclusive access.

Following this, enjoy a delicious Beef or Barramundi lunch at the station (dietary requirements catered for).

The afternoon will be spent boating the Chamberlain Gorge. Only accessible by boat, this 3 km fresh waterhole is bound by diverse flora and fauna and belittled by a towering escarpment.
