Day 3

Rise early and travel back along the Gibb River Road to Kununurra. Today you will fly with Aviair to the Bungle Bungle, marvel at the views as you fly over the Stage 1 of the Ord Irrigation area, Lake Argyle, Ord and Bow rivers and Lissadell cattle station before you land at the remote airstrip in Purnululu National Park.

As you disembark your plane, you will be greeted by your Bungle Bungle Guided tours guide. This tour will take you on an adventure throughout the mesmerising Bungle Bungle Domes and Cathedral Gorge. Alongside your guide, you will wander through the famous eroded towers and orange banded beehive shaped domes of the Bungle Bungle. This walk will take you to Cathedral Gorge, where you can experience first-hand the amazing natural acoustics created by the towering cliffs. Enjoy a tasty picnic lunch whilst relaxing in one of the most beautiful spots in the Park. After a short break, your guide will lead you along Piccaninny Creek and explain the importance of native flora and fauna, as well as the Indigenous six seasons.

Your tour will finish at the Bungle Bungle Savannah Lodge for afternoon tea, check into your ensuite cabin and relax for the afternoon around the pool. Enjoy a drink at the Bungle Bar before dinner.

Dinner and Breakfast is included

Overnight: Bungle Bungle Savannah Lodge – Ensuite cabin

Day 4

Enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast to start your day. Today tour will venture to the northern end of Purnululu National Park, exploring Echidna Chasm and other Northern walks. This tour begins with a 45-60 minute drive along the western side of the Bungle Bungle Range. Follow your guide along a rocky path nestled between cliffs into Echidna Chasm. At points, this path can narrow to a width of less than 1.5 metres. On either side of you, towering walls of orange stone scattered with Livistona palm trees will reach skywards, seeming as though they are lit from within. You will enjoy a tasty picnic lunch whilst enjoying the spectacular scenery of Purnululu National Park. This tour also presents the opportunity to visit nearby walking trails at the northern end of the Park.

As this walk requires a significant amount of climbing over boulders and navigating ladders, we advise this tour is suitable only for those with full mobility.

At the end of the tour you will return to Bungle Bungle Savannah Lodge for your second night.

Dinner and Breakfast are included

Overnight: Bungle Bungle Savannah Lodge – Ensuite Cabin

Day 6

Today will combine the Triple J Tours Ord River Day Tour & Riverside Lunch (J2) with a gorgeous sunset cruise on Lake Argyle with Lake Argyle Cruises.

Be collected from your accommodation at 9.00am before boarding your Triple J Tours boat from the Marina. Cruising this spectacular waterway, you will marvel at the spectacular scenery, wildlife, flora and fauna found along the way, including the elusive freshwater crocodile! Stopping at one of our Riverside Camp’s for a sumptuous buffet lunch we will then have you cruising up to the Ord Top Dam – an imposing sight when finding yourselves at its water line base on the Lake Kununurra side! Board a coach for a drive across the Ord Top Dam before joining your Lake Argyle Sunset Cruise.

Your Lake Argyle Sunset Cruise will have you heading out to sea – an inland sea that is! At full capacity, Lake Argyle is 21 times the size of Sydney Harbour and is known as an inland sea. We’ll cruise through ‘the Heads’ and enter the northern end of Lake Argyle, meeting our resident wildlife along the way. Learn the amazing history of this magnificent lake before settling in for a swim and some complimentary nibbles, accompanied by beer or bubbly. As the sun sets and the sky turns orange, we’ll raise our glasses to an unforgettable day.

After your Lake Argyle cruise, re-board your coach for the drive back to Kununurra. Drop-off to your accommodation will be at around 7pm.
