Back in my home town of Traralgon in Victoria and when I was a young girl, I always had a desire to travel to the Kimberley and when I met my husband at the age of 15 he too had the same dream. It became reality at the age of 24 when we sold our house to work and travel around Australia for an extended period of time. Destination unknown!

Those travels lasted for 3 years and during that time we spent a large part of it exploring WA and in particular the Kimberley by land and sea. We worked and lived in Broome for a number of months before travelling the Gibb River, Kalumburu & Mitchell Plateau roads for 4 weeks exploring extensively throughout. After that Kununurra became our home for a short period of time before we left to travel more, but we always said that we would return and that we did. Twice in fact.

Once for 2.5 years managing Kona Holiday Park (now Discovery) on the Ord River and in the last 11.5 years we have called Kununurra our permanent home. During that 11.5 years I have worked extensively in tourism as Office Manager of the Kununurra Visitor Centre, volunteering for the Kimberley Moon Experience – Ord Valley Muster and of late a Senior Reservations officer with Helispirit, Aviair, Bungle Bungle Savannah Lodge and Bungle Bungle Guided Tours.

This job has allowed me to share my experiences and total love of the area by promoting local tourism businesses and building personalised itineraries for visitors to the region. I have also experienced the magnificent Buccaneer Archipelago from Derby for weeks on end and the Kimberley coast through to the Berkeley and King George rivers. Three months was also spent caretaking the remote, unique Kimberley Coastal Camp which allowed us an experience of a lifetime.

I have so much passion for this region and the incredible scenery and tours that we have to offer, to show you just how amazing this part of the world really is.
